More than 13.6 m t of coal were produced by the subsidiary of Sibirskiy Delovoy Soyuz (SDS) holding, which is among three largest Kemerovo coal suppliers, including 8.1 m t produced with open-cut method and 5.5 m t extracted from mines. Deliveries totaled 12.5 m t (+23 per cent against 2008), including 9.6 m t (+17 per cent) of exported coal.

While almost all mines and pits showed growth of production, the bulk of it was due to new Yuzhnaya mine being put into operation, and to Salek Ltd. performance.

SDS invested 1.57 bn roubles into its coal enterprises in 2009.
