U. K. is the major importer of Russian coal; however, in 1Q2010 British imports cut by 11.5 per cent amounting to 3.87 m t.
Deliveries to China increased dramatically, by 10.8 times up to c 3.4 m t, raising Chinese share in Russian export up to 11.4 per cent against 1.5 in 1Q2009.
Coking coal share in exports rose up to 11.8 against 7.3 per cent reaching 3.5 m t quarterly and expanding geographically to embrace China, Germany, Estonia, N. Korea, France and other countries that had not been covered in the past.
