The largest Russian metal makers, NLMK (Lipetsk) and Severstal’, intend to bid forUlug-Khemsk coal deposit (Tuva Republic). Earlier the two companies tried to acquire Mezhegeysk deposit (also in Tuva), the auction eventually won by Evraz Group.
Tsentral`nyy parcel in the West of Ulug-Khemsk deposit occupies 96 sq km, containing c 640 m t of mostly Zh-graded coking coal (according to Russian nomenclature). It is situated 23 km from Kyzyl and its South-West borders approach Mezhegeysk mining lease.
The start price for the permit to develop the parcel is set at 589 m roubles.
