In 1Q2012, the biggest Ukrainian mining and metallurgy holding demonstrated the decrease of its steel output by 8.7 per cent against 1Q2011 down to 3.296 m t, cast iron output—by 4.8 per cent down to 2.866 m t.
The output of finished metal products dropped by 8.9 per cent down to 2.138 m t, of half-finished products—by 33.8 per cent down to 486 thousand t due to the reduced demand of early 2012.
Coking coal output rose by 10.7 per cent up to 2.970 m t, coking coal concentrate—by 1.1 per cent up to 307 thousand t.
