The Government of Tuva has re-allocated two agricultural parcels of the Elegest village as industrial parcels for Yenisei Industrial Company (YIC) JS starting development of Russian largest coking coal deposit.
Re-allocation of agricultural lands as industrial would increase their cadastral valuation almost tenfold, Elegest budget receiving c 400 thousand roubles of rentals annually. Until now, the lands were bringing none, for their negligible fertility.
The parcels reallocation will enable YIC to start construction works at the first mine.
Development of c 1 bn t Elegest deposit is part of investment project to construct Kuragino— Kyzyl railroad.
