The branch will connect the largest regional deposit of 2.7 bn t of coal, El’ginskoye, to Baykal-Amur Railroad, enabling both export to China and deliveries to Russian Far-East seaports for further Japanese export.
Permdorstroy constructs the branch of 25 m t per year capacity, according to contract with Mechel developing the deposit. Four hundred and twenty facilities are to be built, 194 bridges included. In September, the line should be put to regular operations, Permdorstroy informs.
