27.04.2010 Russian coal output grows 19 per cent in 1Q2010


According to Fuel And Energy Commission’s Dispatcher General, coal production reached 83 m t, with coking coal output showing record growth of 39.4 per cent (up to 16.9 m t). Energy coal production grew by 15.7 per cent up to 66.1 m t.

Coking coal export increased by 113.7 per cent reaching 2.94 m t.

So Russian coal producers nearly made up for their last year’s 8.6-per-cent decline.

Mechel’s Yakutugol’ (Neryungri, Yakut Republic) showed best growth of 13x hoisting wind 1.3 m t of coal.
