Experts decided to evacuate all rescue parties from the mine for security reasons, fires and gas contamination deterring full-scale rescue activity.
Searching for miners continued for 4+ days, bringing up 54 dead. Twenty-four miners are still declared missing.
It may take 7 days to decrease contamination and extinguish fires before resuming rescue operations at the mine, Pavel Plat (Russia, chief military expert) informs.
