24.06.2010 Mechel’s coal sea terminal to launch in 2014


One of the biggest Russian mining and metal-making companies, Mechel plans to complete the first stage of its own terminal at Vanino Seaport (Khabarovsk Province), Armir Kul’man (Mechel, director of department) announced while presenting the project in Khabarovsk.

Project design works are scheduled to complete in 2011, the first stage of construction providing for up to 5 m t of coal annual capacity in 2014, the third stage providing for 25 m t annually by 2020. The coal for deliveries would be produced at 2.2 bn t Elga deposit and directed to countries of Asian-Pacific Rim.
