Alexander Frolov (Evraz Group, president) announced that the economic slump had suspended the mine construction. Currently the company conveys supplementary geological exploration and plans to re-launch the construction works in late 2010 or early 2011.
The mine will start producing first coal—up to 2 m t annually—in late 2012 to early 2013.
Evraz’ Yuzhkuzbassugol’ consolidates Yubileynaya, Abashevskaya, Alardinskaya, Gramoteinskaya, Yesaul’skaya, Osinnikovskaya, Tomskaya, Taragyshskaya, Kusheyakovskaya mines, Yerunakovskaya 8 mine under construction, as well as 2 concentrating mills and 11 auxiliary plants.
