One and a half million dollars would be invested into new blast furnace construction, Vladimir Lisin (NLMK, chairman of board of directors) informed Vladimir Putin (Russia, PM). This is the most promising and large-scale project by the company.
`As far as I know, this is the first large-scale furnace in Russia since the end of the USSR`, Lisin adds. Modern energy-saving technologies powered by coal gas allow for 30-per-cent economy of natural gas. The furnace is characterized by high performance and safety levels, meeting top world standards.
