03.01.2011 Russian coal output reaches 320.9 m t in 2010


The output rose by 6.5 per cent in 2010 against the previous year, Energy ministry data read. Export increased by .4 per cent reaching 97.421 m t.

In December, coal production dropped by 0.6 per cent (against Dec 2009) to 30.641 m t.

Earlier, the ministry expected 320 to 322 m t in coal production with export figures hitting 115 m t in 2010.

Currently, Russia produces coal at 137 open-pits and 91 mines. Its confirmed resources amount to 193.3 bn t, probable reserves — to 3.8617 trillion t, sufficing for 550+ years of production at a current rate.
