Shenhua Coal Corporation has set to estimate the feasibility of the project to develop Bering black coal basin, the biggest at Chukotka, sending its delegation to Chukotka Autonomous District.
Leonid Gorenshteyn (Chukotka Autonomous District, deputy governor) met the Chinese representatives highlighting the regional interest in attracting big investors to develop one of the most promising and favorably situated coal deposits at the Russian N.-East.
Total resources of the basin are estimated at 4.5 bn t of coal, explored and balanced — at 660 m t of coal in Ugol’naya bay, Gorenshteyn informs
