12.07.2012 Sakhalin marginally decreases coal output

In the first half-year of 2012, 1.97 m t of coal were produced in Sakhalin (slightly less than in the same months of the previous year), Alexei Krupevskiy (Sakhalin Region, acting minister for energy) says.

Outgoing deliveries have also slightly decreased due to unfavorable ice conditions at Uglegorskiy district seaports.

Sakhalin coal is principally consumed in Asian-Pacific countries: Japan (307.1 thousand t), China (126.5 thousand t) and Republic of Korea (266.1 thousand t). Another consumer is Kamchatka Province of Russia.
