In the first 8 months of the year, Russian coal production dropped by 0.2 per cent down to 227.5 m t while export grew by 12.4 per cent up to 93.48 m t.
Open-pit output increased by 1.1 per cent, with underground production falling by 2.9 per cent.
Coking coal export rose by 73.8 per cent up to 14.4 m t.
