In 2013, Russia increased coal export by 12.6 per cent up to 142.9 m t while decreasing domestic deliveries by 5.1 per cent down to 178 m t.
Domestic deliveries of steam coal dropped by 7 per cent, of coking coal—rose by 2.7 per cent.
Average export prices for Russian steam coal amounted to $72.1 per t (–11 per cent against 2012), for coking coal—$99 per t (–14.7 per cent). The average domestic price for steam coal in 2013 was 1 479 thousand roubles per t, (–3 per cent), for coking coal—4 079 thousand roubles per t (–9.8 per cent).
